  • The Sunday Assembly Gathering

Join Assemblers from all around the world at the The Sunday Assembly Gathering in Edinburgh, Scotland!

    Gathering.png

Sunday Assembly is an international movement of wonder and good, with secular congregations bringing people together around the world to celebrate life, live better, help often and wonder more.

Most of this activity is centred on these congregations and the cities and towns in which they operate. Once a year we like to help as many people as possible from the Sunday Assembly community come together in one place to meet, share, learn, support each other and re-energise for the months ahead.

Following on from previous events in London, Atlanta, Utrecht and San Diego, our international event for 2018 will be in the glorious city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital. Our past events have gone under the title A Conference Called Wonder, this year we are calling it simply the The Sunday Assembly Gathering. We are making a space in particular for Sunday Assembly leaders, organisers and supporters to come together, share and support each other, while still having space and time for the distinctive Sunday Assembly cocktail of song, music, delight, energy and amazement.

That being said, all who wish to join us are welcome.

More info and tickets at Eventbrite

Tickets are £90 if bought in groups of 3 or more.

RSVP here to help coordinate with other SALAmanders heading to Scotland.

Dr. Sabrina Stierwalt, named a L'Oreal UNESCO International Rising Talent after being the first astronomer ever awarded the L'Oreal For Women in Science fellowship in 2014, joins us to talk about entertaining examples of the kind of nonsense trying to pass itself off as science reporting in today's media. Using entertaining examples and trusty tips, she'll show us how to keep our families and friends in the know.

Dr. Stierwalt is an astrophysicist based in Los Angeles working as a research scientist for Caltech. She's also a TEDx speaker and Macmillan Publishing's Everyday Einstein with a weekly science podcast with an international audience.
