May 14th Sunday Assembly

On May 14th, SALA welcomes Yvette d'Entremont, "the SciBabe," chemist, forensic scientist, speaker, blogger and purveyor of dirty jokes.

What better way to celebrate moms than to feature a tireless social-media advocate of evidence-based knowhow who counters the alarmist torrents of fake health news?

Yvette will tell compelling stories of how, even as a trained scientist, she once fell for everything and how she came around to getting it right. Hear why she now encourages people to get involved in the online dialogue why humor may be among our most effective and persuasive tools.
Shelley Segal leads music!
Poet Deborah Edler Brown reads an original piece dedicated to her mother.

Amy and Marsha host!

Open mimosa bar before and after the Assembly. (Please be responsible.)

This will be our final Sunday Assembly at the Professional Musician's Union Hall. Next June we start at our new digs in WeHo's Plummer Park. Join us for this ultimate Hollywood celebration.

Join us to find your seat at 11 am, and get ready for great talks, live music and secular celebration. Stick around afterward for coffee and, if you're still game,  lunch at the Oinkster across the street.

Sunday Assembly is free of charge, and donations are gratefully accepted.

Everyone is welcome. Free childcare provided.

Free parking is available in our onsite parking lot, and street parking is also free on Sundays.

* Please note that our website is no longer accepting plus-ones for RSVPs. We ask that all adults RSVP individually or sign in at the Assembly. This ensures that you and your party can stay together while signing in, and it helps us improve our statistical data so we can keep working to improve the Sunday Assembly community. Thank you for your understanding.
