Movie Night: "Imitation Game", Alan Turing biopic

"IT IS ONLY A SLIGHT EXAGGERATION to say that the British mathematician Alan Turing (1912–1954) saved the Allies from the Nazis, invented the computer and artificial intelligence, and anticipated gay liberation by decades—all before his suicide at age 41."

Let's make it another Sunday Assembly Movie Social to go see "The Imitation Game", the new biopic about Alan Turing.  It opens Nov. 28.  The film opens at the Landmark Theater, 10850 Pico Blvd. in West LA.  This is the same theater where we saw "The Theory of Everything" a couple of weeks ago.  Let's plan for the 7:15 PM showing and then find a place for drinks/desserts afterwards (want to try something other than the Gulp this time?).  Be sure to get your tickets online at the link provided.

In the meantime, here's a peek at the trailer:

Hello, just wondering how the ticket thing works, since when I go to purchase it asks me to select my seat. What is the plan if we intend to sit together as a group?

Ok, I just got the announcement about the theater and showtimes. It’s opening at the Landmark in the Westside Pavilion on Pico Blvd. in West LA. This is the same place we saw “The Theory of Everything” a couple weeks ago. Tickets area valuable online at the link above. Let’s plan on the 7:15 PM show and then hot a nearby place for drinks/desserts. Do we want to try something different from the Gulp this time?

Hey, guys: I was just looking to see if theater locations had been posted yet. It looks like the release date has been pushed back by a week to Friday, Nov. 28., the day after Thanksgiving. That may cause a conflict for some, but still make this happen. As soon as theaters and showtimes are available, I’ll update this site.
