Purple Party: Remembering Louise Monaco

Louise Monaco, affectionately known as “The Purple Lady” because she wore and owned anything and everything purple, died Jan. 15, a day shy of her 74th birthday, of complications from cancer and respiratory problems. Louise was an early strong supporter and a fixture around Sunday Assembly LA, and she will be deeply missed. CFI-L.A. and the L.A. Press Club.

To celebrate her life, CFI-L.A. and the L.A. Press Club are holding a special “Purple Party” in place of the Center’s monthly Café Inquiry on Wed., Jan. 28. Food and drinks will be provided, and attendees are urged to wear anything purple!

The event will be held in the Center’s Steve Allen Theater lobby, with the doors open at 7 p.m. and remembrances starting at 7:30 p.m.

Louise wanted her body donated to science and no funeral service. She also requested that any memorials in her honor should be given to the charity of your choice.
