Serving the Homeless with the Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition

We will be partnering with the GWHFC (Greater West Hollywood Food Coalition) to serve their nightly meal to the hungry and homeless of Los Angeles on Monday, September 28th.

GWHFC serves their nightly meal on the street -- at the corner of Sycamore and Romaine. Your shift will begin at the kitchen location (1106 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038) where we will load the truck and then drive over to the line just a few minutes away. There is parking at the kitchen area on the street and we will return to the kitchen and our cars after we are done serving. Please be prepared to stay the whole time until the kitchen is cleaned if you are joining us.

Volunteering for the daily meal service will include serving a freshly prepared meal, loading/unloading of the truck, and a final cleaning of the service site and the kitchen. At the end of the day, cleaning the kitchen is just as important as serving the meal. It helps uphold high hygenic standards and ensures safety for all.

At the line, we chat and visit with those who come through and get to know the people that this organization serves. This is a unique opportunity to serve a beautiful and nutritious meal to the clients and community members of the GWHFC.

We do serve the meal outside, so dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting messy (just in case any of you have the soup serving skill level that I do.)

I have worked with this organization many times over the past 3 years, so please reach out to me if you have any questions.
