Volunteer at Reading to Kids!
This October, come join us at Magnolia Elementary School while we help inspire a love of reading to under-served kids! Organized by Reading to Kids, all us volunteers will read aloud to children and create arts and crafts projects about the stories. Each child will receive a pre-donated book to take home, and the books read aloud are donated to the school's library. Helping Often by reading aloud to children imparts a love of books that leads to improved literacy, a more successful education, and a brighter future.
These reading clubs are always held on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon (although new volunteers are encouraged to arrive at 8:45am). Before your first session, please complete the short online application at ReadingToKids.org and read up about what to expect during a Reading Club. During sign-up, please select "Sunday Assembly" as your volunteer group affiliation, and remember to sign up for Magnolia Elementary School to team up with other Assemblers (but please feel free to RSVP for any location if all the volunteer slots are filled up before you register). Parking for Magnolia Elementary is available at 1695 Magnolia Avenue.
If you have any other questions, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. See you there!
