AAHS Discussion: Secularism and the New Administration

AAHS (Atheists, Agnostics, Humanists & Secularists) is a discussion/social group that meets at the UU Community Church of Santa Monica. (https://www.meetup.com/AAHS-Atheists-Agnostics-Humanists-Secularists/)

Why is a president who seems to many of us to be non-religious turning to cabinet picks who seem bent on promoting the influence of fundamentalism and theocracy over our laws, courts and education? And is the importance of what is objectively true really on the decline in our politics? What can we do about these issues?

Here's one resource with lots of ideas for secular and humanistic activism: The Humanist: An Action List for the (Un)Faithful.

Join us for an informal discussion with refreshments. Feel free to bring a snack or beverage to share. This is a new evening meetup for a new year and a new religious/political climate. We look forward to meeting more of our like-minded neighbors and strengthening our community. All are welcome.

Thursday, Feb. 9th, 7-9PM, Forbes Hall, UU Community Church of Santa Monica. Enter the side door just West of the NW corner of 18th St. & Arizona Ave. in Santa Monica.
