Play Artemis!

Come play Artemis!  Artemis is a networked computer game in which several computers together simulate the bridge of a starship.  You will play one of six roles: Communications, Weapons, Helm, Science, Engineering, or Captain.  (And sometime XO, for difficult missions).  The game is designed to make communication essential - no player can do their role well without continuously sharing information with several others.  Missions only take about half an hour, so we will just keep rotating and playing new missions until everyone is exhausted or decides to head home.  It's just as much fun to watch as it is to play.  Feel free to float in or out for just a couple of hours.

We have enough gear for one six-crew ship.  If we have enough attendees and enough additional laptops, we will run multiple ships in different rooms of our home.  (The game supports fleets of up the three ships, networked together).

Artemis will be kid-friendly from noon to 5pm, adults-only thereafter.  If there are enough kids, we will run a couple of kids-only missions early in the day.  We've done this before and it's tremendous fun.  Suitable for kids about 9 and up, but we've had five-year-olds play with help from mom or dad.

There will be a copious supply of Romulan Ale and Klingon Bloodwine, snacks, and an evening order of either pizza or tacos.

The central invitations are being handled via Evite - if you'd like to attend, get in touch with me here so we can get you on that invite list.
