GISHWHES is a scavenger hunt with hundreds of challenges, a lot of which help your community. My team is LAGishers. I did it last year and it was really fun. 

My idea for our team is to not be competitive. To get as many team members together in the same location, maybe even have a campout (I have a huge backyard) or sleepover and do as many tasks as we can, especially the ones that are appealing to us. And then let it go, knowing we had fun, made better friendships and helped people.
