PROJECT: Every Saturday, Let's Read connects volunteers with children who live in the Pueblo del Rio public housing project for tutoring in reading and language. The first 1.25-1.5 hours is one-on-one (or one-on-group) workbook work in language and reading skills, followed by a group project where all tutors and kids come together for an art project or social skills building game. All workbooks are provided. Let's Read typically has 15-30 kids ages 6-13 show up and almost never has enough tutors. 

 REQUIREMENTS:  No teaching experience required.  Must be 18+. Arrive 15 minutes early for a mandatory orientation.  Will need to fill out an authorization for background check along with $25 and sign up with LA Works. (Checks to LA Works.)  You can sign up with LA Works at:  www.laworks.com.
