September 14th Sunday Assembly
For the September edition of Sunday Assembly, we welcome Conor Robinson, recently back from a year of community service work in four countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as part of the pilot program for the Pathfinders Project, sponsored by the Foundation Beyond Belief. Conor will be sharing his experiences and speaking on the nature of service.
Scroll down to RSVP for Sept. 14.
After graduating from Yale, where he launched the student humanist group, Conor taught for 2 years in Los Angeles with Teach for America. During that time he began formulating his ideas for a humanist service corps that focuses on specific local needs while fostering dialogue across religious and cultural boundaries. The Pathfinders were the featured cover story in the May/June issue of the Humanist magazine.
In addition, we'll have music by Kent Martin, an icebreaker, Assembler milestones, stories from our community, all hosted by SA-LA organizer Elijah Senn and, of course, bread-breaking with fellow Assemblers afterwards.
