The Sunday Assembly Line
SALA is proud to announce the second installment of its homegrown, on-site service project, the Sunday Assembly Line.
One of the greatest burdens of homelessness is the difficulty of maintaining personal hygiene. It's hard to stay healthy, maintain self respect, build relationships, find work and stay in school when you don't have regular access to the most essential self care items. We can alleviate some of this burden by supplying people in need with simple supplies most of us take for granted.
On April 10th, just after the Assembly, we'll work together to assemble care kits of urgently needed items, like toothbrushes, antibacterial wipes, sunscreen and deodorant, for the homeless. The Assembly Line is child and family friendly. After the kits are complete, Assemblers volunteering on the Drive Team will deliver them directly to several local homeless communities identified as in need and to People Assisting the Homeless.
We're so grateful for your contributions of travel sized toiletry items (which we're collecting at the March 13th Assembly!), your financial contributions and all your support for our comedy fundraiser, God-free but not Gilbert, which makes the Sunday Assembly Line possible. You can continue to help with a cash donation through April 4th, which will be applied to discount bulk items!
Join us for a rewarding afternoon of helping often with your friends on April 10th. An hour or two of your time can make a huge difference!
