March 10 - Sunday Assembly

planet Earth

Climate change can seem like an overwhelming, scary and intractable problem. One way we can get our heads around it is by taking it one evidence-based step at a time.

On March 10th, activist James Witker will talk about common sense climate change policy and how the momentum on environmental policy is changing with an influx of young activists and incoming freshmen congress members. This is a cause that needs more support from people who value reason and evidence and love our fragile pale blue dot home. There are small things all of us, even if we aren’t scientists, economists, or politicians, can do to help secure a livable future for our species.

With music from Sunday Assembly San Diego Songleader Paul Svenson. Original poetry by Deborah Edler Brown. Hosted by Amy Boyle and Ryan Trout.

Join us at 10:30 am, and at 11:00 we'll get started with great talks, live music and secular celebration. Stick around afterward for coffee and, if you'd like, lunch in the neighborhood.Sunday Assembly is free of charge, and donations are gratefully accepted.

Everyone is welcome. Free childcare provided.

Street parking is free on most of the surrounding streets on Sunday, and the theatre has valet parking available for a small fee.

Please join us afterwards for brunch at Spoonfed, down the street at 959 Seward. 1 hr parking for $1 with validation.

Sunday Assembly is a volunteer-driven non-profit entirely funded by attendee donations. If you'd like to see SALA continue to develop positive secular community, please consider becoming a sustaining member:

We could always use more volunteer helpers, starting at 9am. to set up signs, greet attendees, brew coffee and load out after the event, let us know if you can be on the team this month!

Want to sing your heart out from the other side of the stage? The Wonder-more Warblers is a for-fun choir that meets at 10:30am on the day-of to run through the songs. Sometimes we even have a rehearsal with the band before the day! Sign up here to learn more.

There's a TON that goes into driving a thriving community--planning committees, event hosts, blog writers, social media posters, video editors and maybe something you're into that we haven't even thought of yet. If you'd like to be a part of the (figurative) magic of managing a science-based community, let us know!
