In a special presentation of the critically acclaimed documentary, Particle Fever, you will be given a front row seat to a significant and scientific breakthrough as it happens. The film follows six brilliant scientists during the launch of the Large Hadron Collider to recreate conditions that existed just moments after the Big Bang and to find the Higgs boson.
 
The film was directed by Mark Levinson, a physicist turned filmmaker, from the inspiration of producer David Kaplan. It's been masterfully edited by Walter Murch, famed editor of films such as Apocalypse Now, The English Patient, and The Godfather trilogy.
 
In a review, Wired magazine commented that it is "a movie about the Large Hadron Collider that you'll actually understand." The Scientific American reviewer admitted: "Full disclosure: I cried at a movie about particle physics." In a comment on the film's Web site about the human quest for knowledge, Director Levinson said, "As (physicist) Savas says at the end of the film, the pursuit of these things, not really necessary for survival, are what make us human. There is a continuous line, beginning with the first symbolic representation of our ‘environment' with the cave paintings at Chauvet, to the sophisticated equations of physics that we think describe the deepest, inner workings of the universe."
